No, track is a non cut sport. Just complete the registration and come to practice!
$50 Participation Fee payable in the bookstore.
$75 Program Support Fee: funds team activities, meets, coaching, equipment, uniforms, Thunderboard dues, concessions, etc. Additional tax credit donations and hospitality donations to support our amazing and dedicated coaches are ALWAYS welcome! (link)
Uniforms are provided prior to the first meet provided the athlete has completed the Code of Conduct. Uniforms are to be returned at the end of the athlete's season. Athletes will be charged for lost or damaged uniforms. Athletes are required to buy their own shoes and spikes.
To avoid injury and maximize performance, it is recommended that athletes wear good quality shoes appropriate to their sport. Sole Sports has shoes for every Track & Field sport and gives a discount to DV Track athletes. Watch for an announcement about their annual DV Track & Field discount event.
The first week in February for ALL through the second week in May for Varsity. Others finish mid April. Check the www.dvtrack.com website for updates.
Distance meets Monday and Thursday mornings at 5:00am, Tuesday and Wednesday after school. All other disciplines meet Monday through Thursday after school with occasional practices on Saturday mornings. *Practice dates/times change at team coach's discretion

Track athletes are encouraged but not required to register for Advanced PE zero hour sophomore through Senior year. Zero hour PE provides specialized training for Track athletes. There may be a fee for zero hour classes upon registration. Students are required to take 1 credit of PE to graduate. Zero hour PE can be taken multiple times for credit and can even be taken as an honors class.
Yes, some of the meets are held during school hours, some are after school, and some are on Saturdays. Students are encouraged to let their teachers know in advance of any anticipated absences for track meets.
Yes, for all "Away meets". Also, some Varsity team members who qualify have the opportunity to travel to Arcadia, CA for a national competition. See Schedule for dates. Additional fees required.
Meets are either open or invitational. All athletes are encouraged to participate in open meets. Coaches will select athletes to participate in invitational meets.
All athletes are required to stay for the entire meet. Athletes need to stay and support their team members, assist coaches, and help with equipment. Staying for the entire meet shows team spirit! Athletes may leave early only with permission from their coach for special circumstances.

The Program Support fee pays for all the items big and small that our district does not cover with your $50 activity fee such as:

If you pay this fee as a tax credit donation, it allows us to use the money to pay our fantastic and dedicated coaches a stipend for all the extra hours they put in to run the DV Track & Field program. Fees paid outside the Tax Credit Donation program cannot be used to pay the coaches, although they can be used to pay for all other items.
  • Volunteer your time!
  • Pay your program support fees by making a tax credit donation.
  • Help with the Hospitality suite by donating money or bringing food.
  • Contact the coaches or any of the Booster Club Board members for more information on volunteer opportunities.

Yes! If we have plenty of volunteers, it will make it easy for each of us to slip out and watch our favorite team members compete while others cover for us!
